Who We Are

Watkins Global Strategies, LLC, was founded in 2006 by Peter Watkins. After leaving Washington, D.C. and a careful consideration of a career path, Mr. Watkins decided to apply to the private sector over a decade of communication experience in government, public affairs, advertising and radio.

Prior to Watkins Global Strategies, Mr. Watkins served as a White House Spokesman for President George W. Bush. While in this role, Mr. Watkins was quoted by nearly every major U.S. publication including, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, as well as television news including CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX News Channel.

Previously, Mr. Watkins was Deputy Press Secretary to First Lady Laura Bush as a spokesman and was responsible for planning and executing Mrs. Bush's media events. Mr. Watkins's other roles at the White House were in the Advance and Press Offices. While serving as a Press Assistant to the President, he was the liaison between the White House and all visiting foreign media delegations, while also a principal point of contact for the White House press corps.

In his various roles at the White House, Mr. Watkins was involved in countless media events, including prime time press conferences, addresses to the nation, international summits, and media events in over 40 countries. His broad experience with international, national and local media has given him a unique understanding of various industries at every level.

Mr. Watkins is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Utah. He offers instruction in the field of political communication.

After living for a time in Italy and Malta, Mr. Watkins is fluent in three languages. Peter received a B.A. degree in Mass Communications from the University of Utah. He and his wife, Adrianne, live in Salt Lake City, Utah.
